The origin story of The Houston Shed Company
The Houston Shed Company is a sister company of Joseph’s Woodwork Co. Both companies are owned and operated by Joseph Gonzales. After years of offering a wide range of woodworking products, Joseph gradually narrowed the focus of his company to garden-related products such as planter boxes and garden beds.
While delivering so many great products to so many backyards, clients often considered what else Joseph and his crew could build for them. Fences, playscapes, decks and pergolas were occasionally requested. But the most frequent request was for a shed.
With the utmost care and quality, Joseph built a handful of sheds for friends, family and clients. Joseph’s eye-opening conclusion from that trial was that his sheds were of much higher quality than those offered by the big box stores. And he could offer them for a better price than what any national company was charging.
Those two facts alone were already a recipe for success. The big clincher for Joseph, however, was knowing that his personal care and attention on each shed would establish and sustain the reputation of a new business. The Houston Shed Company was born.
